A rural electric cooperative needed a way to provide quick, accurate cost estimates to members requesting new electric service. The traditional process involved multiple back-and-forth communications and manual calculations, delaying responses and frustrating members. Our team developed STAKR, a web-based staking cost estimator that lets members get instant estimates by simply dropping a pin on a map.

  • Designed and built the React frontend with ArcGIS integration
  • Developed Node.js backend with PDF generation and email delivery
  • Integrated with the cooperative's existing GIS data
  • Configured assembly cost tables and service option rules
  • Deployed as a multi-tenant cloud application

STAKR transforms the new service request process. Members get instant estimates, and engineering staff spends less time on routine inquiries.

Members visit the cooperative's STAKR site and select their service type to begin.

STAKR service type selection

After entering an address or dropping a pin on the map, the system automatically locates the nearest existing infrastructure. Members select service configuration options and enter their contact information.

STAKR map interface

The system generates a professional PDF estimate branded with the cooperative's letterhead, which can be emailed directly to the member and utility staff.
