An electric cooperative is constructing a new 115 kV to 25 kV distribution substation, along with associated transmission and distribution projects, to serve growing load. The cooperative needed program management to keep design, procurement, and construction moving together. Our team serves as the owner's program manager and engineer:
- Built and maintain the master project schedule
- Managed procurement of major equipment including the power transformer, relay panels, reclosers, and switches
- Coordinated the design, protection, geotechnical, survey, and construction firms
- Supported state DOT permitting
- Developed the commissioning plan through energization
Sixty Mountain keeps the program on one schedule, from transformer procurement to the final commissioning sequence.
PROGRAM AND SCHEDULE MANAGEMENT
Our team maintains the master schedule across the substation, transmission, and distribution projects. Design, procurement, construction, and commissioning are tracked to a single energization date.

PROCUREMENT
Major equipment was specified, quoted, and tracked from purchase order through delivery. Long-lead items are watched closely so construction is never waiting on material.
COORDINATION
Our team acts as the owner's single point of contact between the design engineer, protection and SCADA firms, subconsultants, permitting agencies, and construction contractors.

COMMISSIONING PLANNING
A step-by-step commissioning program was developed covering wire checks, low voltage powerup, equipment testing, relay and SCADA verification, and transformer soak through in-service.
BOTTOM LINE
- A cooperative needed its new substation program managed to an energization date
- Our team provides the schedule, procurement, and coordination to get it there
